With none of the races at Kempton having more than seven runners, only the top two will count in the Placepot and that can lead to a nice dividend if there are odd results.
I highly doubt we’ll get one in the [email protected] Hurdle (4.00) where last year’s winner Royal Seal stands. He really should be too classy for his opposition on a ground he will appreciate.
The opening juvenile hurdle (1.40) was won by Grade 1 winner Knight Salute last season and while it’s hard to think there’s anything of his caliber in the works execution, The age of sailing made a good impression on his Chepstow debut recently and can be counted on too.
It might be a bit dangerous to bet on Romanor in the Racing TV Handicap Chase (3.25) as he climbs in weight after two easy wins. However, he looks like a totally different horse since he has wind surgery and can still run on a mark he was competitive on over hurdles in his youth.
The winner must be found in two races, so it is safer to pair, especially since it seems a draw between Boombawn and blue plush in the Racing TV Novice Hurdle (2.50).
Jemima P stands out in her pursuit in the Every Race Live On Racing TV Novice Hurdle (4.35) and she also puts on a lot of weight with her mare allocation. She should really win but winning point to point rock on cowboy should act as a safety net, with his trainer, Ben Pauling, having recently won this race twice.
There is a valuable little form of pursuit in the Watch On Racing TV Novices (2.15) handicap pursuit, so a bit of guesswork is involved. Parisian in a hurry ran well in a few good hurdle races last season, while Assuming Ed had a warm up on the flat and might be difficult to catch up from the front.
