MGM partners with Cincinnati Reds for the game

MGM announced that it is now an official sports betting partner of the Cincinnati Reds. The new relationship grows stronger MGMin Ohio ahead of the state’s planned launch of legalized sports betting on January 1, 2023.

Terms of the marketing agreement were not disclosed.

“Today’s announcement marks the beginning of our plans to create the most entertaining and dynamic sports betting experiences in Ohio,” BetMGM said. The multi-year agreement includes the opening of a retail BetMGM Sportsbook at Great American Ball Park. The sportsbook will be in the space that currently serves as the Machine Room restaurant, on the northeast side of Great American Ball Park. It will only be accessible from outside the paid areas of the ballpark via the arena level entrance. The new site will allow fans to watch and bet on matches throughout the year.

This marks MGMsecond sports betting in a Major League Baseball stadium, joining the MGM Sportsbook at Nationals Park in Washington DC which opened in January 2022.

MGM signage will be prominently displayed at Great American Ball Park, including a permanent wallboard on the outfield, behind-the-plate messages and a branded foul line during select games. MGM also plans to organize VIP experiences for his fans, including access to the field during batting practice.

MGM will also offer online sports betting in the Buckeye State.

MGM became MLB‘s very first official play partner in 2018.

The agreement between MGM and the Reds are not the first for a Cincinnati sports team. Last summer, the Cincinnati Bengals announced a partnership with sports betting brand Betfred ahead of Ohio’s expected online sports betting.

“The Bengals continue to seek out new and exciting ways to enhance the fan experience and this partnership will provide additional opportunities to interact with our fans,” said Brian Sells, vice president and chief marketing officer of the Bengals. “We look forward to working with Betfred to create fun, fan-focused activations that add excitement on matchday.”
