Visa offers faster payments and tips for content creators

Visa has launched a new solution designed to help content creators access their funds faster and accept donations and tips from their audience. The Visa Ready Creator Commerce program is a solution for platforms that host creators.

“Through the Visa Ready program, eligible platforms can enable tipping and subscriptions, and unlock new revenue streams for creators around the world,” the company said.

Examples of creator-centric platforms include social commerce and video game companies. “Whether you’re a social platform looking to help creators drive online commerce, an enabling platform that helps creators get paid, a gaming platform initiating in-game purchases, or a fintech taking support all of the above – the Visa Ready Creator Commerce Program might be right for you,” according to the program’s website.

Visa said the creator economy is one of the fastest growing small business categories, with more than 50 million artists, musicians and creators publishing content as a full-time source of income or part time.

Some of the companies working with Visa are Linktree, Marqeta, Rutter and SamCart.

More than 40,000 creators have collectively earned more than $2.8 billion from the SamCart platform, its co-founder said in the announcement. Brian Moran of SamCart said, “With this new Visa program, we’ll be able to help creators access these funds in minutes by simply using their Visa debit card.”

Visa has created a landing page where platforms for content creators can learn more.
